A Memory here, A memory there

A memory here, a memory there
Locked in a closet, or in the ocean air
Swimming against its tide, the current is too strong
Muscular waves of nostalgia, washing over us all

A memory here, a memory there
In the sway of the palm trees, or in the sunlight's glare
Approaching from the mind’s tunnel, it runs over your heart
Leaving a deep print, haunting you every waking hour

A memory here, a memory there
In the scent of that perfume, or in an earring’s pair
Blooms like daisies, a lush garden of green,
The soul reaches out; eyes are painted with sheen

A memory here, a memory there
In a guitar’s thrum, or in a butterfly's flair
The rhythm takes you back, The colours bring tears
Under this vast universe, all we have is what lies here...

A memory is just a memory,
It can be
Seen, not held
Felt, not touched
Told, not explained
Treasured, not experienced again

A memory here, a memory there
Don't you cry, it cant always be fair
Close your eyes, don’t be scared
Just look into your heart, those memories will always be there
